Our Mission
Cage Free Voices is a Neuro-Inclusive Intelligence System designed to restore how individuals think, learn, and discern in an AI-driven world. Through AI-enhanced, human-centered learning, we equip cognitively diverse learners with the tools to process, interpret, and engage information beyond traditional education models.
The Problem We Address
American education faces a convergence of crises. Literacy is declining, chronic absenteeism is rising, and students feel increasingly unsafe. Traditional, one-size-fits-all models were not designed for the cognitive diversity of today's classrooms — leaving neurodivergent learners, in particular, underserved.
Company Overview
Founded in 2014 by Bathsheba Smithen, Cage Free Voices (CFV) is a neuro-inclusive literacy organization headquartered in Atlanta, GA. A Virginia Tech alumna ('06) raised in Newport News public housing, Smithen built CFV into a multi-state education technology company alongside executive partner Dr. Jacqui Virgil. CFV is launching RISE Homeschool Hubs across five states (MI, MD, NJ, NY, NC) in September 2026, partners with school districts for supplemental services, and maintains a 14-app digital learning ecosystem serving K–12 students. CFV is a private organization that partners with parents, schools, and institutions — not a public school or government-funded entity.
The Neuro-Inclusive Intelligence System
CFV's core innovation is the Neuroadaptive Learning Triad™ — an educational framework that profiles how each learner engages across three cognitive domains: Music Regulation (auditory focus), Gamified Motivation (challenge-driven engagement), and Digital Cognitive Adaptation(AI-supported pacing). Based on this profile, the system assigns a personalized learning pathway and activates adaptive settings — such as audio support, gamification boosts, or AI pacing — that align instruction with the learner's cognitive strengths. All instruction is human-led and AI-supported; technology augments, never replaces, the educator.
